Five Deals That Could Happen Today

5. Out: Cheick Tiote

The Cheick Tiote saga has been rumbling on since the summer and at one point a move to Spanish club Sporting Gijon seemed a sure thing.

However, things seem to have slowed down on that front, but a move for Tiote can’t be too far away.

He seems to be surplus to requirements at Newcastle and no doubt the club will want his wages off the bill.

4. In: Tim Krul

It seems that Tim Krul’s loan move to Ajax has not quite worked out.

The Dutch giants have once again put their trust in the young players at their disposal, meaning that Krul has not been given the game time that he needs in order to return to fitness.

With all of this considered, Krul may well return to Tyneside, if Newcastle are unhappy with his current amount of playing time.

3. Out: Tim Krul

If Krul does return to Newcastle, then he is likely to be immediately shipped out somewhere else.

Rafa Benitez already has Karl Darlow, Rob Elliott and Matz Sels at his disposal, making an unfit Krul who has not played for some time, surplus to requirements.

With Chelsea looking for a back-up ‘keeper, so that they can allow Asmir Begovic to depart, could a move to London be on the cards for Newcastle’s Dutch stopper?

2. Out: Chancel Mbemba

There has been a lot of talk that Chancel Mbemba could also be heading to London.

Mbemba has been linked with Crystal Palace, with former Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce supposedly keen to take the defender on loan.

Mbemba’s return from the African Cup of Nations is imminent, following his starring role in the Congo midfield.

Not long ago Mbemba was considered a hot young prospect, but he has fallen out of favour at Newcastle and could do with game time.

1.In: Andros Townsend

Andros Townsend was possibly the only player that many fans were sad to see leave in the summer.

When he departed for Crystal Palace there was a feeling that the squad had suffered a genuine loss.

He offers pace, skill and is very direct. He would offer another great option on the wing, alongside Yoan Gouffran, Matt Ritchie and Christian Atsu, and there has been a lot of talk that he may return.

This deal seems to hinge on Chancel Mbemba heading to Crystal Palace, so the question is, is the deal worth it for both sides?

With Palace leaking goals and Newcastle struggling to create, it could be a possibility.
