Would Newcastle Have Beaten Norwich If It Wasn’t For This Man? Alex Neil Seems To Think So

As reported by the Chronicle, Norwich City boss Alex Neil thinks that his ‘keeper John Ruddy was the man who made the difference against Newcastle on Tuesday night.

Speaking after the game, Neil said: “I thought John was excellent,”

“John has come into a good bit of form for us, and when we’ve relied on him he’s been there for us and made some crucial saves in games of late.

“He can certainly be pleased with his performance.”

“We make an error, Mitrovic goes through and John Ruddy makes an excellent save.”

“I think prior to our  run, that probably goes in and makes it doubly difficult to even get a point.”

“They had a set-piece right at the death which John  had to make sure he beats away and deal with it.”

Neil made it clear though that he did feel his team deserved something, adding: “I thought as the game as a whole, yes a draw was fair,”
