Newcastle United could be set to receive dispensation from the English FA over the proposed move of away fan’s at St James’ Park.
New Premier League guidelines, which come into play in August, state that all top flight clubs must provide a pitch-side section of their ground for away fan’s.
The club, however, have provided safety reasons for ensuring that any away fan’s remain in their natural position of level seven in the Leazes end of the ground.
As well as concerns about not being able to properly segregate fans if they are nearer the ground, there is also the problem that those Newcastle fan’s who have been seated in that particular section will have to be moved to a different part of the stadium.
The move has been met with mixed reviews on social media with some fan’s thinking it would liven up the atmosphere and others not being happy at having to give up their seat for a possibly poorer view.
@MsiDouglas Level 7 is the best place to generate noise anyway. Away fans have been louder than our fans at pitchside

@MsiDouglas @ChronicleLive They'll still be closer than the pitchside away fans at the Olympic Stadium!

@MsiDouglas one of the reasons I moved seats is because they keep throwing objects from up there. It's dangerous. 1 day there'll be serious

@MsiDouglas @ChronicleLive unfair on home season ticket holder like myself who will have to move.

@MsiDouglas @ChronicleLive ridiculous. I think it's a great idea. Might actually wake the east stand up

@MsiDouglas arguably the atmosphere was far better when opposing fans were in the leazes east corner

What’s your thoughts on the proposed move?
Would you be in favour of moving the fans pitch side even though home fans will need to be relocated?
