Spanish reports link Benitez with a move for former Barcelona striker

According to a report from Spanish newspaper ‘Sport’, Rafa Benitez is eyeing a move for ex-Barcelona and current Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez.

This is not the first time we have been linked with Spanish U-21 international, with claims that United have made several attempts to sign the versatile attacker over the last few years.

The highly rated 21 year-old has impressed in La Liga this season, scoring 13 goals in 27 games for mid-table Malaga. His performances are said to have attracted the interest from several Premier League clubs, with a host of Spanish sides also keeping tabs on the striker.

The report also claims that the former Barcelona youngster is available for a bargain fee, with his rumoured release clause of just £5m meaning we would no doubt face stiff competition for the signature of such an exciting young prospect.

Benitez could, however, hold the key to such a deal if Newcastle’s interest proves to be genuine. The Magpies boss spent 11 years managing in Spain and will have several contacts, with his status and the Spanish link having the potential to attract La Liga talents to Tyneside this summer.

If this highlight reel is anything to go by, he looks a real talent!
