Chelsea pair on NUFC’s radar as Rafa looks to loan deals this summer

Rafa Benitez is said to be on the look out for loan deals this summer in order to maximise incomings at NUFC according to the Chronicle.

The report claims that Benitez aim to attract fringe players and young prospects from the Premier League’s top-six and abroad in a bid to bring in 7-10 new faces to Tyneside this summer.

Two targets are said to include Chelsea duo Nathan Ake and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Ake, a talented 22 year-old defender, was handed his debut at Chelsea by Benitez in 2012. He impressed in a recent loan spell at Bournemouth and looks to have a big future in the game, with a loan move likely next season to gain the Dutchman some more valuable first team experience.

Loftus-Cheek was a player we targeted in January and a player also tipped for big things at Chelsea, with the 21 year-old England youth star likely to be also loaned this summer.

While Loftus Cheek is clearly a talent, it’d be Ake i’d be pulling out all the stops to sign. He looks a class act, capable of playing across the whole back four and a player who’d thrive on a move to St. James’ Park.

Benitez will have contacts at Chelsea and has already been linked with a move for Chelsea prospect Tammy Abraham. While we need an injection of experience added this summer, there could be some loan deals to be had with his former club.
