NUFC join Everton in the race to sign £8.5m rated Ligue 1 star

Newcastle United have been joined by Everton and Lyon in the race to sign Ligue 1 star Ryad Boudebouz this summer according to Talksport today.

Boudebouz is an attacking midfielder who currently plays for French side, Montpellier. We have been previously credited with an interest in the 27 year-old, with the Chronicle reporting that Newcastle were offered him in the January.

The Algerian has since went on to enjoy a sparkling season in France, registering an impressive 11 goals and 9 assists.

Talksport report today that Newcastle have reignited their interest in the midfielder, who can play out wide or in the no.10 role, claiming we will face competition from Everton and Lyon for his £8.5m rated signature.

Whilst many fans have every reason to be dubious about another potential French league signing, it must be said that Ligue 1 offers great value for money IF you get it right.

With Boudebouz appearing very much like Remy Cabella in terms of playing style, physique and French league record however, i’d approach this deal with caution.
