According to some amusing rumours from Spain today, former Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko is attracting interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The Spanish newspaper ‘Don Balon’ claim that despite his nightmare spell with Tottenham Hotspur, the French international is still highly thought of by the Spanish giants, suggesting Barcelona and Real Madrid could make a move for the midfielder his summer.
Sissoko joined Spurs on deadline day last summer and to say he hasn’t lived up to his £30m price-tag is the understatement of the century. In a team full of attacking talent and slick football, Sissoko has stood out like a sore thumb.
He has failed to ever nail a place down in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, making a handful of starts in the cup and starting just twice across their Champions League & Europa League campaigns this season.
Given his form this season and fall from grace following an impressive Euro 2016, it’s fair to say these rumours will be severely wide of the mark!
