Revealed: The players Rafa is ready to sell this summer according to local report

Following promotion back to the Premier League, Rafa Benitez is about to embark on phase 2 of the ‘Rafalution’, with mass changes expected this summer in order to shape a squad ready to compete in the top flight.

The Chronicle report today that the Spaniard is ready to sanction some shock transfers at Newcastle United this summer, and whilst that may refer to some surprising incomings, the story makes reference to 11 NUFC players who the club could sell over the coming months.

Unsurprisingly, it claims that Henri Saivet, Massadio Haidara, Emmanuel Riviere, Siem De Jong, Achraf Lazaar, Matz Sels and Grant Hanley are all thought to be up for sale this summer, being a group of players who have featured very little and made little to no impact during their time on Tyneside.

The likes of Karl Darlow, Tim Krul, Daryl Murphy and Jack Colback were then mentioned, being four players that The Chronicle feel have every chance of departing Newcastle this summer.

Whilst several of the above names are players you’d expect to leave this summer, it is clear that Benitez has the ruthless streak required to sanction big and necessary changes at the club.
