Rumours have emerged today that Steve Bruce is eyeing a £5m move to bring Jack Colback to Aston Villa this summer.
The 27-year-old could be set to leave the club this summer, with The Chronicle reporting last month that he has admirers in the Championship and could be one of several moved on by Rafa Benitez.
Today’s report claims that Aston Villa are one of the Championship clubs interested in the midfielder, with HITC suggesting that Steve Bruce is keen to be reunited with Colback – a player he knows well from their time at Sunderland.
@NUFC_Index Rumours of £5.2m bid for Jack Colback from #AVFC Amazing money if true. I'd snap their hands off and think I'd won the lottery!

Such a deal will be music to the ears of several Newcastle fans, especially if there is any truth behind the reported fee of £5m, with a common belief that Colback was barely good enough for Championship football, never mind the Premier League.
Time will tell if there is substance behind this latest rumour, but a move for Colback this summer would appear to suit all parties.
