Former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is the shock name being lined up to take charge at Sunderland if Tony Adams’ consortium seize control of the club according to an exclusive in the Daily Star.
Pardew has been jobless since being sacked by Crystal Palace in December last year, and has stated earlier this week that he was ready to return to management.
The potential new owners on Wearside will be aware of how controversial the appointment of Pardew would be, with Alan having spent 4 years on Tyneside prior to his sacking, however they feel believe the 55-year-old is the ideal candidate to lead them back to the top-flight next season.

This story is made all the more comical given Pardew’s lack of experience in the Championship and managerial shortcomings in recent seasons, however it’s fair to say us Newcastle fans would be more than happy to see this happen!
