Newcastle showed interest in the Ivory Coast striker during his time at Vitesse in Holland, however Swansea beat us to his signature in the summer of 2013. Bony’s career has stalled following a big money move to Manchester City and he has been made available by Pepe Guardiola this summer. He would likely need to take a pay-cut, but if Benitez believed he could help him rediscover his Swansea form then this is a deal well worth looking at.
