Extended highlights: Hearts 1-2 Newcastle – Dwight Gayle double seals NUFC win

Newcastle enjoyed a winning start to their pre-season programme last night, with Dwight Gayle scoring twice in an entertaining 2-1 win over SPL side Hearts at Tynecastle.

We’ve put together a series of clips from last night’s match, including both of Dwight Gayle’s goals,  some impressive pieces of play from Siem De Jong, a stunning Rob Elliot double save, Aarons hitting the woodwork twice and a first look at new signing Florian Lejeune in action:

All in all, a promising opening performance from the lads and particularly good run out for the likes of Siem De Jong and Rolando Aarons who delivered lively first half displays.

Dwight Gayle looked sharp and new signing Florian Lejeune made an impressive start to life at Newcastle, looking strong in defence and comfortable with the ball at his feet.
