NUFC forward on the verge of completing Championship move

Newcastle United prospect Adam Armstrong looks set to seal yet another loan move away from Tyneside, with newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers all set to hand the 20-year-old some valuable game-time in the Championship this season.

Armstrong returned to pre-season training with Newcastle after his World Cup heroics with England U-20’s this summer, , however his immediate future appears to lie elsewhere for the coming season, having been left out of the Irish training camp this week in order to secure a loan move to Bolton it has been revealed.

The Chronicle have also revealed that Bolton will have to pay a portion of his £15,000 weekly wage packet.

Armstrong scored 20 goals in 40 games during his loan spell at League 1 side Coventry in the 2015/16 season, however, the Geordie striker had less of an impact in his latest stint at Barnsley, scoring 6 goals in 34 appearances in the Championship last season.

Another move to a Championship club is essential for his development and Bolton seems a good fit, where he is likely to get plentiful first team opportunities alongside recently signed former Magpie Sammy Ameobi.

He has conquered League One after excelling with Coventry, however his next challenge must be to make an impact in the second tier following a mixed spell with Barnsley last season.
