Former Newcastle United winger Yoan Gouffran has turned down a chance to remain on Tyneside in favour of a move to Turkey, with Super Lig side Goztepe SK confirming the signing of the Frenchman on a two-year deal in rather bizarre fashion last night.
Gouffran was released along with Vurnon Anita earlier this summer, however the 31-year-old midfielder had since been offered a contract to keep him at the club.
He has opted instead to join newly promoted Turkish side Goztepe however, who – in typically alternative fashion – unveiled the Frenchman in the theme of popular TV series Game of Thrones!

Since arriving from Bordeaux in January 2013, Gouffran has scored 19 goals in 127 appearances, with 7 of those coming in last season’s title winning campaign in the Championship.
It’s a slightly bizarre move for the Yoan and yet another ‘alternative’ unveiling this summer, but we wish him all the best for all his efforts that contributed to our promotion back to the Premier League last season.
