Following yesterday’s official arrival of Jacob Murphy, Newcastle look set to announce the signing of Atletico Madrid defender Javier Manquillo, with a photo being leaked of the 23-year old full-back posing in our new training kit.
Whilst a deal for Manquillo was expected to be completed today regardless of this leaked image, details of his move to Newcastle had went a little quiet ever since the surprising news on Tuesday that he had arrived for his medical.
The leaked picture below is pretty conclusive proof that the Atletico Madrid right-back is on the verge of completing his move:

The arrival of Manquillo is a little out the blue, however. The former Spain U-21 International has struggled to break through at his parent club Atletico Madrid, and has had limited success during loan spells at Liverpool, Marseille and Sunderland over the past three seasons.
The jury is out on this one, but he arrives as a relatively low risk signing who can provide cover at right-back and left-back, and at 23 there’s room for development.
Time for that old saying; ‘In Rafa we trust’.
