Sunderland fans react in typically amusing fashion to Javier Manquillo’s move to NUFC

Today Newcastle confirmed of Javier Manquillo – the full-back who spent last season on loan at the Stadium of Light – and Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to have their say on the Spaniard’s latest move.

Manquillo isn’t the first player to swap Wearside for Tyneside in recent years (DeAndre Yedlin and Jack Colback) and some amusing comments have emerged from the Mackems after his move was finally confirmed today.

Whilst the 23-year old did not set the world alight under David Moyes last season, it is worth noting that, at one stage, Sunderland fans were liking what they were seeing from the full-back:

Again, we are not suggesting he was a success at Sunderland, but it’s funny to compare the above tweets (made during last season) to the ones that have emerged since he has signed for their bitter rivals. Here’s some of the best from Twitter today:

They don’t rate him, but they didn’t rate DeAndre Yedlin either, and he turned out ok.

  2. Some fans have short memories and limited knowledge, Skeletor was told if they played manquillo more than 25 games they had to buy him for 9.5 m, if they had sold their ground 7 times over with all the players left they still couldn’t have afforded him…..they wanted to loan a 2m player off us ………cheeky if you ask me,
