Transfer talk – a round up of today’s NUFC transfer gossip – 25/07/2017

Today’s round up of all NUFC related transfer talk:

  • Lyon have made Aleksandar Mitrovic their number one attacking target this summer and are are set to step up their interest by lodging a £13.5m bid for the Serbian striker (Northern Echo).
  • Rafa Benitez could be set to raid his former club Napoli, with Newcastle said to be lining up a £10m move for Brazilian holding midfielder Allan (The Sun).
  • Tim Krul, Achraf Lazaar and Emmanuel Riviere were all absent from training today, fuelling rumours that they are nearing their Newcastle United exits (The Chronicle).

  • The Mirror claim Newcastle will continue to monitor the progress of Jacob Murphy’s brother Josh Murphy, with a view to signing him up as well.
  • Newcastle have cooled their interest in Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson following the signing of versatile right-back Javier Manquillo (Daily Mail).
  • Former Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has signed for League One side Peterborough.

  1. We need to start signing some quality, get in for Cairney/ Boudebouz?? and a decent centre forward, I would even look at carroll if he could retain fitness and play alongside Gayle, I would also go for Gibbs, if he is still available. Maybe Rolan
