Newcastle cruised to victory in our third game of pre-season tonight, seeing off League One side Bradford City 4-0 at Valley Parade – with Jacob Murphy stealing the show, bagging his first two goals as a Newcastle United player.
We dominated from the outset, with Jonjo Shelvey pulling the strings in an effortless first half performance from the midfield maestro. Florian Lejeune also impressed once again, looking particularly comfortable on the ball – Newcastle look to have found themselves a ball playing centre-back.
Dwight Gayle opened the scoring, turning in a dangerous Christian Atsu cross after some good play from Mohamed Diame – and no sooner was it 1-0, it was 2-0. Jacob Murphy scored his opening goal in black and white, calmly rounded the goalkeeper after some good play from Dwight Gayle:

Mitrovic – who surprisingly took the captains armband when Shelvey made way – then made it three, tapping into an empty net after some unselfish play from Rolando Aarons. Jacob Murphy then grabbed his second, rounding off the scoring in impressive fashion as he converted another Aarons cross with an a right footed shot into the top right corner:
