Sky Sports have revealed this afternoon that Newcastle have seen a bid rejected for Stoke City striker Joselu.
The Chronicle have suggested that a formal bid is yet to be submitted for the Spaniard, stating an initial enquiry is set to be followed by ongoing talks with Stoke, however Sky Sports claim a bid has been turned down by The Potters.

Since his £6m arrival in 2015, the 6ft 3′, former Spain U-21 forward has been handed just 10 starts by Mark Hughes, scoring 4 goals in the process. He spent last season on loan in La Liga with Deportivo La Coruna, netting 6 times in 22 appearances.
Joselu has impressed upon his return to Stoke in pre-season however, netting four times in 2 games, including this impressive strike earlier in the week:

Considering his goal record has been anything but prolific of late, the signing of the 27-year old will not excite those of us eagerly anticipating the arrival of a proven goalscorer, but I believe the below tweet sums up Benitez’s interest in Joselu perfectly (or at least you’d like to think so!):
For those having meltdowns, Joselu is probably being targeted to replace Daryl Murphy, as Manquillo was signed to replace Anita. Chill.#NUFC
