According to reports from the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United are considering a move for Sheffield Wednesday attacker George Hirst.
Newcastle United have clearly endured a very frustrating period in the summer transfer window so far but it is expected that the Magpies will be ramping things up during the final two weeks before deadline day and they have already completed the signing of Joselu from Stoke City recently.
The arrival of Joselu certainly beefs up the previously thin looking Newcastle attacking lineup and now according to reports from Shields Gazette, the Magpies are looking to sign another attacking player in the form of young George Hirst.
Hirst is a talented England Under-20 international who broke into the Sheffield Wednesday first team last season and big things are expected from the 6’3 striker in the coming years.
The 18-year-old has attracted the interest from a host of clubs due to his evident potential and Newcastle are said to be looking to beat off competition from the likes of Leicester City, Manchester United and Arsenal to sign the striker.
