According to reports from the Chronicle, Newcastle United youngster Freddie Woodman is currently attracting the interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Crystal Palace.
Newcastle United are facing a bit of a tricky situation in regards to their goalkeeping department as manager Rafael Benitez has already allowed Matz Sels to leave while the likes of Tim Krul and Karl Darlow are also expected to follow suit soon.
If both Krul and Darlow depart, Rob Elliot will be the only experienced choice left available for selection for Benitez and this has led to the Spanish boss eyeing up new goalkeepers in the transfer market recently.
However many fans feel that rather than spending money on a new goalkeeper, Newcastle could well use young Freddie Woodman as an understudy this season and there is no doubting that the 20-year-old possesses the credentials to become the number one at St. James’ Park for years to come.
Given his wonderful talent though, Woodman has been attracting the interest from a number of clubs as well and reports from the Chronicle state that the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Crystal Palace are all keen on the 20-year-old.
Woodman is contracted at Newcastle till 2020 and fans should not worry about losing the youngster despite the interest but given the Magpies’ recent history of selling players, it will be interesting to see if Premier League side will fend off suitors if an attractive bid is placed on the table.
