As reported by the Chronicle, Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is using his widespread contacts across Europe in his attempt to strengthen his Magpies squad during the final week of the transfer window.
It is clear for everyone to see that Newcastle United need to strengthen their squad before the end of the summer transfer deadline day in order to be able to retain their Premier League status and much to the relief of the fans, manager Rafael Benitez has recently admitted that he expects to be busy during the final week of the window.
Benitez had said about Newcastle’s potential activity in the transfer market, “I expect to be quite busy we’re working to find solution to some players.
“I don’t know [if offloading players will free up funds]. We’re reducing the number of players we have and continue to look for other options in the market.
“Four or five times a day, I speak to Lee. I know what he is doing. We will try and get some time to do the business. We are working very hard behind the scenes.”
Newcastle have been linked with a host of high profile names such as Stevan Jovetic, Islam Slimani, Loic Remy and Dennis Praet among others over the past few weeks and it will be interesting to see who the Magpies will be able to land in the coming days.
Now according to reports from the Chronicle, claims have been made that Benitez has been in contact with technical directors at top clubs in all of Europe’s major leagues enquiring about which of their fringe players could become available.
The Spaniard also is in constant dialogue with managing director Lee Charnley about potential transfers and the Newcastle fans can now expect a few exciting names to be arriving to St. James’ Park within the next few days.
