Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has provided an insight as to what sort of players he will be looking to bring to St. James’ Park during the final days of the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United have endured a largely frustrating period in the summer transfer window so far but it is expected that the Magpies will be pushing hard to bring in a host of new players to St. James’ Park before the window slams shut in a couple of days.
Newcastle clearly need to strengthen in various areas of the pitch in order to improve their squad and manager Rafael Benitez has been working extremely hard in order to land the services of his preferred targets.
Despite all the frustrations surrounding Newcastle on the transfer front, Benitez is remaining positive and has gone on to reveal that he will be looking to sign players who will add ‘something different’ to what he has already got in the squad at the moment.
The Spaniard said, “We will try and bring in players that will give us something different. We know these players. We will try to bring players in the positions we need and bring in the characters we need.
“It doesn’t change the situation too much. Maybe any club will have a player available that you are not expecting to come on to the market. At the moment we know what we need and what we can get but it [the result] won’t change too much.”
