As reported by the Daily Mirror, Newcastle United will only allow Aleksandar Mitrovic to leave St. James’ Park for a fee in excess of £20million.
Mitrovic has provided many memorable moments to Newcastle United fans since his arrival to the club from Anderlecht back in the summer of 2015 but at the same time, the young striker has also enraged many due to his volatile temperament.
Mitrovic’s cameo during Newcastle’s 3-0 victory over West Ham United was a perfect illustration of the good and the bad of the 22-year-old as he managed to get into the scoresheet with a fine goal but now also faces a ban for unnecessarily elbowing Manuel Lanzini in the face.
Due to this nature, manager Rafael Benitez does not completely trust Mitrovic and is said to be ready to offload the Serbian international even though the Spaniard does not have too many attacking options at his disposal.
Greek side Olympiakos were said to have made an approach for Mitrovic recently but according to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle have slapped a whopping £20million asking price on the young striker and it remains to be seen as to whether any side will be willing to match such a large fee for the ex-Anderlecht star this summer.
