According to reports carried out by the Chronicle, Newcastle United have expressed a desire to acquire the services of Divock Origi from Liverpool.
Despite their thumping 3-0 victory over West Ham United during the weekend, Newcastle United’s need to improve their attacking department before the end of the summer transfer window has been well documented.
As a result, a host of names such as Stevan Jovetic, Loic Remy and Vidar Orn Kjartansson have all been linked with the Magpies in recent times and now according to reports from the Chronicle, claims are being made that Liverpool attacker Divock Origi is also on the radar of the Premier League side.
With Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge ahead of him in the pecking order, Origi is expected to struggle for regular first team football at Liverpool this season and a loan move away from Anfield has been touted for the Belgian international recently.
Due to his apparent availability, Newcastle have joined in the race to sign Origi but they will have to fend off competition from the likes of Marseille, Inter Milan, Juventus and Crystal Palace to sign the talented 22-year-old.
