As reported by Netherlands outlet Fox Sports, Newcastle United are currently in talks over a swap deal involving Tim Krul and PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet.
It is clear to see that Tim Krul has been deemed surplus to requirements by Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez and the Spaniard is looking to sell the Dutchman as soon as possible in order to get him off the wage bill.
A move to Benfica had been touted as a potential destination for Krul but now a return to the Netherlands has also been viewed as a possibility for the 29-year-old, despite his struggles at Ajax and AZ Alkmaar last season while on loan.
Now according to surprise reports from Dutch outlet Fox Sports, Newcastle could offload Krul in a surprise swap deal for PSV Eindhoven custodian Jeroen Zoet.
Newcastle United scouts were said to have watched Zoet during PSV’s 2-0 victory over Roda JC on Sunday and it is believed that the Magpies could push on with their pursuit for the 26-year-old by offering up the services of Krul.
