According to reports from the Northern Echo, Newcastle United are currently considering selling Dwight Gayle to Fulham after offloading Grant Hanley.
Newcastle United desperately need to improve their squad during the final days of the transfer window in order to stand a chance of avoiding the drop this season but rather than arrivals, the Magpies seem to be busier offloading unwanted players.
It can be confirmed today that defender Grant Hanley has been sold to Norwich City for a fee of around £3.5million and manager Rafael Benitez is now said to be desperately looking to dispense with the services of the likes of Jack Colback and Achraf Lazaar as well.
However, Newcastle are currently unsure of whether or not to sell another player surplus to requirements in Dwight Gayle, after Championship side Fulham placed a whopping £15million offer on the table for the 26-year-old.
Gayle has failed to impress in the Premier League so far and Benitez is said to be open to parting with the former Crystal Palace man for the right price.
Now reports state that the £15million bid by Fulham has certainly tempted Newcastle but the Magpies are hesitant to sell Gayle without bringing in a replacement and it looks like the transfer of the striker will go down to the final day of the window.
