According to reports from Italian outlet Alfredo Pedulla, Newcastle United are currently preparing a huge £20million bid for Sampdoria star Dennis Praet.
Newcastle United are widely expected to be strengthening their squad during the final two days of the summer transfer window and unsurprisingly, a host of names have been linked with a move to St. James’ Park in recent times.
Bringing in a creative midfielder will surely be one of the priorities for manager Rafael Benitez and one player who has been consistently linked with a move to St. James’ Park is Sampdoria man Dennis Praet.
Benitez is believed to be a keen admirer of Praet’s abilities and now according to reports from Italian outlet Alfredo Pedulla, claims have been made that Newcastle United are currently plotting a £20million swoop for the Belgian international on transfer deadline day.
In addition, Praet is also said to be ‘in preference’ of a move to Newcastle and it will be interesting to see if Sampdoria decide to accept the Magpies’ approach for the 23-year-old.
If Sampdoria shoot down Newcastle’s latest offer, the Premier League side do have the option of activating the midfielder’s release clause, which is believed to be in the region of around £23million and it will be interesting to see how the transfer unfolds within the next 36 hours.
