Despite transfer deadline day fast approaching, Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has taken the time out to travel to Switzerland to attend the UEFA coaching forum today.
Newcastle United clearly need to strengthen their squad during the final days of the summer transfer window and one can expect Magpies boss Rafael Benitez to be very busy over the next 48 hours as he looks to shake-up his team.
Despite having a lot of work to do in the transfer market though, Benitez has taken the time out to fly to Switzerland by accepting an invitation to attend the 19th edition of the “Elite” forum – which is chaired by former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Due to Benitez’s standing as one of the elite managers in world football, he was invited to the event and other notable high profile names who have attended the meeting were Massimiliano Allegri, Zinédine Zidane, Leonardo Jardim, Unai Emery, Ernesto Valverde and Jose Mourinho among others.
Newcastle fans will surely be proud that their manager holds such a high standing in the game but at the same time, they will be hoping that the event has not detracted Benitez’s focus from strengthening the Magpies’ squad before the end of the transfer window.
