Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has urged Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez to stop complaining.
While many expected Newcastle United to be very busy during the summer transfer window, things did not quite pan out that way and following a failure to bring in a single player to St. James’ Park on deadline day, manager Rafael Benitez would surely have been left very frustrated.
Benitez has made no secret of his desire to improve his squad this summer and has made subtle jabs towards the club hierarchy for not backing him sufficiently in the transfer window.
While many feel that Benitez has every right to complain regarding the lack of support from the club in the transfer market, Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has gone on to state that the 57-year-old should just focus on his job rather than constantly complaining.
He wrote on Twitter as a response to a question from a fan,
@DMAC102 what do you think of what’s going on at Newcastle

I think their manager needs to stop moaning/play acting via media & get on with doing job he is paid a fortune to do ?? https://t.co/ve24JeTwJI

Even more controversially, MacAnthony went on to defend the much criticized Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley and stated that he does not deserve to receive the treatment he gets from the fans.
Thoughts on Mike Ashley?
