Benitez facing nervous wait as in-form NUFC man is forced off during international duty

Rafa Benitez was left frustrated by Newcastle’s inability to sign defensive reinforcements on deadline day – seeing the club fail to sign a left-back – and our current stand in left-back Chancel Mbemba is now his latest fitness concern, having hobbled off during DR Congo’s 2-2 draw with Tunisia last night.

The 23-year old has generally struggled to nail down a first team place during Rafa’s reign, but has filled in superbly at left-back since Paul Dummett’s injury on the open day of the season.

Mbemba scored the opening goal in last night’s World Cup qualifier for DR Congo, but was forced off on the hour mark, leaving Benitez facing a nervous wait learn the severity of his injury.

Whilst we will have Lejeune and Yedlin returning from the sidelines for Sunday’s game, an injury to Mbemba is an untimely blow for Benitez given the lack of defensive cover he was handed on deadline day.

  1. Rafa doesn’t rate him anyway,so if he is out he has the perfect reason not to play him,it’s the same with Mitro.Gayle is not premierleague material and neither is Shelvey should be rid of those two.

  2. New to his arena and reviewed numerous comments, some good and some bad. Avid Newcastle fan and have been for the past 30 years. We used to be season ticket holders and got fed up 12 month ago and didn’t renew our tickets for this year( Yes I know we are back in the premier league). However, when will you lot learn, this man is running a business and ” making a profit!!). How can he be slated for running a successful one at that!!! Keep hearing all the complaints about not doing this or not doing that!! – Only way to get rid of Fatty is to stop handing your money over.Season tickets are the first although too lat now as he already got your money.Stop buying his merchandise and stop stuffing your faces with his pies every week and downing your sorrows with his expensive bloody alcohol!!!! Only way to get rid of him is to STOP HANDING YOUR MONEY OVER.. Once he realises that we are not going to put up with his business model anymore, he may then do what we all want him to do and SELL UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Otherwise, stop moaning about the current situation and continue to keep handing your money over for tickets EVERY WEEK, stop stuffing your faces with his food etc, stop buying his merchandise and above all, stop paying nearly £5 a pint or £4 a bottle( you can get 12 cans of Stella for a £10 at the shop every week and STOP MOANING!!!! Rafa doesn’t trust him anymore so why do you?????????? – he is NOT AND NEVER WILL BE A TOON FAN!!! -He supports Spurs for gods sake. My guess is, he is trimming the overheads to sell up. Look at the figures and they don`t add up. We need a left back as a matter of urgency and West Brom snap up oops: oops: Gibbs for £7m!!! Could go on forever but when will the penny drop with you lot??????????? 😕 😕 😕
