Some surprising stats have emerged, showing that NUFC new-boy Joselu has had the joint most shots on target in the Premier League this season, with only Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku, Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah matching his tally of 9.
Shots on target this season
9 – Lukaku, Salah, Joselu, Kane
7 – Mané, Rashford
6 – Eriksen, Jesushttps://t.co/NdqsCXdDHH— Fantasy Football Fix (@FantasyFootyFix) September 13, 2017
Perhaps the most impressive thing about this stat is that Joselu has played significantly less minutes than those tied on 9 shots on target, with the Spaniard having only started two of our opening four games:
Joselu – 9 shots on target, 188 minutes
Mohamed Salah – 9 shots on target in 249 mins
Harry Kane – 9 shots on target, 355 mins
Romelu Lukaku – 9 shots on target in 360 mins
Admittedly, Joselu has 1 goal to his name compared to Lukaku’s 4, Kane’s 2 and Salah’s 2, but it’s a promising statistic for a man playing in a newly promoted team and one that bodes well if he can continue showing such an eye for goal.
