Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff has been in the headlines a lot since making a loan move to Blackpool this summer and his latest accolade has seen him win the EFL goal of the month award for August.
The 19-year old midfielder has bagged 4 goals and 2 assists in 6 League One appearances, seeing him win Blackpool’s player of the month award and gain admirers from a host of Premier League sides in the mean time.
Several of his four strikes so far this season have been from distance, but this is the goal that has been voted League One’s goal of the month for August:

The midfielder bagged an impressive 10 goals in 13 games for the U-23’s last season before being sent on loan to Kilmarnock for the second half of the 2016/17 campaign. He made an impact in the SPL, but it seems he has stepped up his game another level during his time with Blackpool.
It’s great to see a local lad do well and should he continue performing at this level it may not be long until we see him fighting for a place in our first team.
