The teams are out for today’s 4pm kick off at the Amex and Rafa Benitez has named an UNCHANGED team from the side that beat Stoke 2-1 at St. James’ Park last weekend.
Here’s the team we’ll see line-up against Brighton today:
Newcastle United XI – (4-2-3-1) – Elliot – Yedlin, Lascelles, Clark, Mbemba – Hayden, Merino – Ritchie, Perez , Atsu – Joselu. (SUBS- Darlow, Gamez, Manquillo, Diame, Shelvey, Murphy, Gayle)
As expected Lascelles and Clark continue at centre-back, whilst Mbemba and Yedlin’s solid displays against Stoke see them retain their places at RB and LB – seeing Manquillo and Gamez miss out once again.
Merino and Hayden continue in midfield, keeping Shelvey out of the side for the third game running since he returned from his ban.
Ritchie and Atsu will operate out wide once again, with Perez – who enjoyed a better game against Stoke – playing just behind Joselu in attack who deserves another chance up top.
Brighton XI (4-4-1-1) -Ryan; Bruno, Duffy, Dunk, Suttner – Knockaert, Stephens, Propper, MarcH – Gross – Hemed. (Tim Krul on the bench for Brighton)
