NUFC set to be offered the chance to sign Arsenal outcast on loan in January

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to be loaned out in January as he looks to find some much needed first team football, and it looks like we will be one of several clubs offered the chance to sign the 25-year old.

Wilshere spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, making 35 appearances in all competitions – a vast improvement on previous seasons given his torrid injury record – however, despite impressing in League cup and Europa league outings, he is yet to start a league game for Arsene Wenger’s side since returning to the Emirates over the summer

Like Jonjo Shelvey, his ability isn’t in doubt, but his temperament has been questioned over the years (perhaps the reason why both have been overlooked by England once again!) as well as his injury record being another big factor that has contributed to a stuttering career so far.

Whilst Wilshere’s creativity and spark is something we do lack at present, I feel we’re best concentrating on the signing of a striker in January – unless people believe he’d be capable of doing a job at number 10?

The Arsenal midfielder needs a move to give him hope of playing at next summer’s World Cup for England, but I’m not sure where he’d fit in our team on a regular basis once we have Mikel Merino fit and firing alongside Jonjo Shelvey in midfield.

West Ham, Swansea and Real Betis are said to be ‘monitoring’ his situation according to the Daily Mirror.

Let us know your thoughts folks – would you take him on loan in January?

Here’s him in action for Arsenal in the Europa League recently:

  1. He is just the player we need, alas I fear he wants to stay in London and likely the choose Palace.
Only chance we have is Rafa working some magic on him..

My Arsenal mate says he is “Broken”
