Spanish outlet confirms Rafa Benitez’s interest in La Liga ‘goal machine’ – Everton & West Ham also keen

Some interesting news from one of Spain’s leading outlets ‘MARCA’ today, who report that Newcastle hold an interesting in Villareal striker Cedric Bakambu – with Premier League rivals Everton and West Ham also believed to be eyeing the 26-year old forward.

We were first credited with an interest in the Congolese striker by Sky Sports June, however it was suggested that we would have to break the bank to sign the La Liga goal machine – who had netted 34 goals in his two seasons prior to this one in Spain.

Not much has changed on that front, with MARCA claiming Villareal could demand up to £30m for the in-form striker, who has netted 9 times in just 14 games so far this season following the signing of a new contract over the summer.

With this alleged price tag in mind, it’s pretty clear that this will only be a deal we could consider should a takeover take place, however he appears to be the sort of striker we need, having pace, power and goals to his game if his time at Villreal is anything to go by.
