Alan Shearer has sent a plea to Mike Ashley following Saturday night’s crushing defeat to Leicester City, stating that he must sell up to someone who cares or face relegation once again with NUFC – also criticising Ashley’s total lack of respect for the club in his actions behind the scenes.
The NUFC legend tends not to beat around the bush, and has been pretty straight forward in his response to defeat once again here, however his comments below only echo what most of us are thinking.
Here’s his rant on Match of the Day 2 last night and his tweet the followed Saturday’s defeat.

Nowhere near good enough @NUFC today. Sell our club Mr Ashley to someone who wants to be here before it’s too late again. #newlei #125years

“Sell our club Mr. Ashley to someone who wants to be here before it’s too late again”
January will be so important, yet seems unbearably up in the air. Whilst Staveley’s interest is known, she is highly unlikely to be in place for next month’s transfer window.
That’s the big worry, with it meaning that any necessary spending may have to come out of Ashley’s pocket – something we are not banking on giving his ability to make unthinkable risks at the club.
Fingers crossed for a good result on Wednesday and some positive news on the takeover/January investment front over the coming week. These things are now starting to look incredibly key after such a worrying run of form in recent months.
