Huge news today from Journalists all over Twitter that Mike Ashley is now ‘close’ to agreeing a deal with Amanda Staveley for the sale of NUFC, and Sky Sports have now weighed in with their understanding on the situation – confirming that a £300m agreement is now close after Staveley took out some of here original clauses.
Sky Sports’ North-East reports Keith Downie has also explained that the two parties will now come together to ensure Benitez has money to spend in the January transfer window. Yet more news that will bring a smile to Rafa’s face no doubt!

Interesting news also from Sky Sports’ North-East correspondent Keith Downie, who explains (as stated above) that Stavelely has compromised on the clauses that were present in her initial offer, also revealing that the two parties will come together to ensure money is available for Benitez to spend in the January window – with it likely to take time before new owners are in place due to Premier League regulations having to ratify the deal. Makes sense!
