Some news emerging from the continent today has revealed that Crystal Palace have submitted a formal offer of €20M (£17.5m) to Besiktas for star striker Cenk Tosun ahead of next month’s transfer window – the man who has been described as Benitez’s top January target in recent months.
Scouts are believed to have made several trips to watch the Besiktas hitman, however it seems relegation rivals Crystal Palace may have stolen a march on ourselves for his signature in January.

The Turkish star appears to be a striker we have had our eye on for some time and has been the man most prominently linked with a move to NUFC since the summer, but there has always been doubts surrounding our ability to pull off such a deal – especially without a takeover.
The 26-year old has 13 goals and in 22 games this season – including 4 goals and 2 assists in six Champions League appearances for the Turkish champions this season.
He’ll be in high demand next month and always looked an ambitious target, but it seems Crystal Palace are making their move, highlighting once again just how important a takeover is to enable us to compete in the transfer market once again.
