Not the news we’re all waiting for, but there’s two bits to report in terms of outgoings today, with striker Ivan Toney sealing a loan move to Scunthorpe and left-back Massaido Haidara linked with a move to Dutch side FC Utrecht.
Starting with Toney, the 21-year-old was recalled from a spell at Wigan yesterday, but has been loaned out immediately – pouring cold water on fan fears that he could deemed ‘like a new signing!’.
He scored 6 and bagged 4 assists in 12 starts for Wigan, but he featured from the bench more often than not. The club are keen to see him move to a side who’ll play him week in week out, and it seems he will get that at former loan club Scunthorpe – the League One side he spent the second half of the 2016/17 season with.
Newcastle United forward Ivan Toney has joined @SUFCOfficial on loan until the end of the season. Good luck, @ivantoney24!

Then to Haidara. The Frenchman has become a bit of a forgotten man on Tyneside, with him making just 37 appearances during his 5 years at the club. He was named on the bench against Luton last weekend, but we’ve not seen him feature once this season.
His contract runs out in the summer, but Eredivisie side FC Utrecht could be set to snap him up this month according to Dutch source AD.
Selling and loaning will create room in our slightly overcrowded squad, however it’s now time for us to start bringing players in. Benitez set a 20th January deadline for new incomings, but we seem no closer to confirming any new arrivals.
The sooner that ******* Ashley is out of this club the better.
Let him get his grubby fat fingers on some money then with the best will in the world a lightning bolt will hit him strait between his eyes and we will all be able to show our respects by pissinh on his grave.
