Not what we wanted to hear in our bid to stay up this season, but relegation rivals Swansea are thought to be in talks to pull off the signing of Atletico Madrid duo Kevin Gameiro and Nicolas Gaitan – further proof that other teams could leave us behind in the fight for safety if Mike Ashley isn’t careful!
Striker Gameiro has made a name for himself during spells at Sevilla, PSG and Atletico Madrid and is player whose been regularly linked with Newcastle over the years – however bottom of the league Swansea are pushing to sign him as they look to lift themselves from the bottom 3..
He may not be the only high profile signing Swansea attempt to pull off either, with them also alleged to be talking to fellow teammate and Argentinian international winger Nicolas Gaitan according to the Swans’ local media outlets.

Both deals seems hopeful at best given the position Swansea are in and the calibre of both players in questions, however this just proves how other relegation rivals will aim to pull out all the stops in a bid to stay up.
Mike Ashley meanwhile has STILL not given Rafa a budget to spend and instead looks likely to sanction ‘up to three’ loan deals this month.
