Some breaking news in the last few moments as it has been confirmed that Chelsea wing-back Kenedy is travelling to Tyneside as we speak, with the 21-year-old Brazilian expected to complete his medical and seal a loan move to Newcastle in the next 24 hours.
This comes from widespread sources tonight, as the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, the Mail’s Craig Hope and Sky Sports all confirm that a deal could be concluded tomorrow.
Looks like Kenedy will be done in next 24 hours. https://t.co/7M3jEvtpjT

A deal had been all agreed between Newcastle and Chelsea, however Benitez has been waiting for Conte to sanction to deal. That moment appears to have finally arrived (with Chelsea agreeing a deal for Roma left-back Ederson today), with news tonight that he is now travelling to Tyneside with a view to completing his medical tomorrow and signing on the dotted line.
He even posted this on his Instagram account just moments ago. Him on a train heading to Newcastle perhaps? I looks that way.

The Brazilian wing-back is versatile (left back, left-wing back and left midfield), talented and skilful, having produced this moment of magic in an FA Cup appearance for Antonio Conte’s side against Norwich last week:

We’ll keep you posted tomorrow! Looks like signing number one incoming at NUFC, but this must only be the start of our January business with 9 days to go. A striker is essential.
A confidence player, blows hot and cold, would need considerable molly-coddling. An ego with little maturity, could be an annoying noise behind the scenes, disrupting the dressing room. Rather ordinary overall performance at Watford and Chelsea so far. A bit underwhelming, but given the Ashley-imposed restrictions on Rafa, probably the limit of NUFC’s ambitions.
