According to leading German outlet SPORT BILD, representatives from Newcastle and Stoke have been spotted watching in-form Hertha Berlin striker Davie Selke.
The 23-year-old has bagged 9 goals in 16 appearances for the Bundesliga side and BILD claim that Newcastle scouts watched him score in a recent 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund this month.

Selke stands 6ft 4′ tall and has been capped 15 times by Germany U-21’s, scoring an impressive 9 goals in the process. He was also called up to Germany’s 18-man squad for the 2016 Olympics games in Rio, scoring 2 goals in 5 appearances in that tournament.
Now, this seems to be a young player we have our eye on opposed to the man we expect to sign this month to solve our goalscoring problems. Perhaps a replacement for fellow 23-year-old Aleksandar Mitrovic further down the line?
Hertha BSC confirmed the signing of Selke from RP Leipzig on a long-term deal over the summer for a reported club record fee of €8.5m, so he’s unlikely to be on the move again. He could be one to watch, however.
Here’s him in action, scoring against his former club last month:
