In an interview with Sky Sports, NUFC skipper Jamaal Lascelles has delivered a strong message to Manchester United players, warning them that we’ll make is ‘nasty’ for them on Sunday – saying they may be big players on big wages, but we will have ‘more heart and hunger’ than them.
Lascelles has led by example in just about everything he’s done this season, with his actions on the pitch and words off it gaining huge admirers on Tyneside and across the country. Even England boss Gareth Southgate has visited St James’ Park on a few occasions this season to check him out ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash with Jose Mourinho’s Man Utd, the captain has sent a message to their big name players, telling them what they can expect from a hungry NUFC this weekend:
“We’ll make it dirty and nasty on Sunday”,
“They’ve got big players on big wages but I can tell you we’ll have more heart and more hunger than they will.”

Love this from Lascelles. People have sometimes asked him to do his talking on the pitch, suggesting he speaks too much off it, however he’s a player whose nearly always backed up his comments when he steps out onto St James’ Park.
Yes he’s bold, outspoken and honest, but he’s one of few players whose actually ‘got it’ at NUFC over the years and this sort of fighting talk and dogged approach could just put us in good stead to ruffle a few feathers when Mourinho’s men come to town on Sunday.
