Newcastle United have sent out club officials to watch Besiktas star Tolgay Arslan according to Turkish Football today – the 27-year-old midfielder who has been impressing for the reigning Turkish champions this season.
It was reported back in November that we had scouts present to watch Besiktas’ Cenk Tosun and Oguzhan Ozyakup,in their 1-1 draw with Monaco in the Champions League, however it was claimed back then that NUFC officials were also left impressed by team-mate Tolgay Arslan.
The report by ‘Turkish Football’ claims that we have since made an enquiry about the former Germany U-21 midfielder, asking about his availability this summer.
He has made 33 appearances for Besiktas this season and generally operates as a central midfielder – however he has been known for his versatility.
