Sky Sports pundit and avid Fulham fan Tony Gale has admitted that supporters are taking to Aleksandar Mitrovic because of his ‘aggression’ and ability to back into defenders and hold the ball up – stating how he’s given them much more than just goals since arriving from Newcastle in January.
Gale is a regular on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday and spent 7 years at Fulham as a player across the 70’s and 80’s, being one of many Fulham fans who has been incredibly impressed by what he’s seen from the Serbian so far.
He describes Mitrovic as giving them that ‘aggression’ and ‘edge’ that they’ve lacked, feeling his signing has been the ‘icing on the cake’ for the Championship’s in form side.
See below to hear what he had to say himself, with Gale discussing Mitrovic after scoring twice against Sheffield United from 30 seconds onwards in the clip:

“He’s just giving us an edge.
“All of a sudden we can go into the feet of someone who’s backing into defenders, giving them a problem.
“He’s aggressive. I know he’s a little bit of a wind up merchant for the other defenders, but I think you can see how the fans took to him.
“They like his skill, the way he holds the ball up and the way he’s taking his chances, but they like his aggression and we’ve just lacked a little bit of that.
“That’s given us that little bit of icing on the cake.”
Seems like he’s the missing ingredient Fulham had been lacking until now, and it’s interesting to see how much their fans are valuing his presence and ferocity – two things he didn’t always show enough of at NUFC.
Here’s a compilation of his performance against Sheffield United on Tuesday night, highlighting just what a nuisance he’s being up top at Craven Cottage:

Dont understand all the excuses about Mitro, imo when you play the lone striker you need to be fit to hold the ball up and link up with the wingers, that performance from Mitro was perfect example, well done Mitro keep it up
