Some breaking news in the last few moments confirming relegation rivals Southampton have sacked manager Mauricio Pellegrino following their 3-0 defeat at St James’ Park on Saturday.
The Saints sit just one place above the relegation zone and have won just ONE of their last 17 games under Pellegrino.
They were shocking on Saturday and stunk of a side facing the drop, so his sacking is no surprise – and is perhaps a few weeks/months too late as far as Southampton fans are concerned.

They have several handy players, but they were soft defensively, laced ideas, fight or desire. It was possession football with no intensity and an awful watch if you were a travelling Southampton fan hoping for a big effort in such a relegation six-pointer.
The new boss (whoever that may be) will have 8 games to save their season, however this could give a talented Southampton squad the boost they desperately needed if the right man now arrives. Marco Silva and Brendan Rodgers are the favourites with the bookies.
Let’s just be thankful they sacked Pellegrino AFTER they played us, with Saturday’s game being the easiest 3 points we’ll have all season.

“laced ideas”? Sounds frilling
