Some incredible scenes at the Stadium of Light over the weekend (no, they didn’t win!), with a Newcastle fan providing a priceless moment for us Geordies to enjoy during their half time ‘entertainment.
A Newcastle fan stepped up and won their half-time crossbar challenge, and if that wasn’t already bad enough for the dribs and drabs of Mackem fans to endure, he then marked his victory with a classic Alan Shearer celebration!
He was initially being applauded by the half empty Stadium, with few clocking on that he was actually a Newcastle fan mimicking Shearer in his black and white shirt. To top it all off, an on-rushing steward eventually cottoned on – only for him to be nutmegged!
Here’s the footage itself, shared by Sky Sports news over the weekend:
Not only are Sunderland flying into League One at the speed of light, they also had a Newcastle fan win the HT crossbar challenge yesterday, do a Shearer celebration lap of honour AND nutmeg a steward. Times are tough on Wearside. pic.twitter.com/KaPxHVFcy7

It was a bad enough day for Sunderland as it is, with their 2-0 home defeat to Preston leaving them 5 points adrift from safety and plummeting towards League One, however this really will rub salt into the wounds!
Feeling the slightest bit sorry for them? Watch this..
? "If we were playing Rotherham and Burton Albion week in week out we'd be top of the league as well" ??
@ a #Sunderland fan? who needs reminding of this ? (? F/ HITC Sport) pic.twitter.com/59HdSsTwEO

The Newcastle lad was part of fantastic charity effort for the Bradley Lowery Foundation he deserved his moment of fame which was appreciated by the few of us true Sunderland supporters who were there, There was no steward just a mate in a Sunderland shirt ,and another in a Chelsea shirt and another in an Everton shirt …remember cancer has no colours.
Enjoy laughing at us ,we deserve it I suppose or some of us do, banter is banter but for some on both sides there is a darker side to our rivalry.

Well said Kyle, I’m a mag and was touched by Bradley lowery when he bossed the pitch as a mascot and have great respect for defoe for what he did for the lad, we should be finding ways to bring the clubs together not drive us apart, ps: the mate in the Sunderland top was nutmegged just about sums up your season, wouldn’t look out of place in the first team, both our sides struggling due to lack of investment.
