Michael Owen reveals fascinating stat during his Newcastle vs Arsenal prediction – good & bad news

Former NUFC striker Michael Owen has revealed that Arsenal have beaten Newcastle in our last TEN encounters in the league, however he expects us to get at least a point on Sunday –  fancying us to take all three points it if there is to be a winner.

Owen also highlights the fact we have won our last three home games on the spin (Man Utd, Southampton, Huddersfield), whilst noting how Arsenal, in contrast, have lost their last four away games.

Arsenal’s record over us in the last 10 league meetings is a shock (ten straight defeats for us!), but the fact they’ve took just 13 points from a possibly 54 on their travels this season fills me with home – especially given our current form at St James’ Park!

No wonder quite a few are feeling quietly confident ahead of this one, backed up by the fact Arsene Wenger’s side still have to play a Europa League quarter final in Moscow tonight.

Here’s what Owen’s had to say during his Bet Victor blog:

“Arsenal had played and won five successive home games prior to their trip to Moscow on Thursday for the second leg of their quarterfinal Europa League tie.

“Newcastle will be well aware that they have lost their last 10 PL games against the Gunners but I think they will buck that trend at St James’s Park on Sunday.

“United have won their last three league games while the Gunners have actually lost their last four PL games on the road. Yes – they have not played an away league game since their 2-1 defeat at Brighton at the beginning of March!”

“Arsenal have only won thirteen of their 54 points so far this season on their travels and if there is to be a winner on Sunday, I expect United will edge it”

Owen’s prediction: Draw

What do you reckon folks? Feeling confident?
