Ex-Sunderland stopper Jordan Pickford sends message to NUFC fans after Everton’s 1-0 win on Monday

As most of you will know, Everton’s Jordan Pickford ran over and gave it the big’n to the travelling Newcastle fans during Everton’s 1-0 win on Monday – and he’s since said that there’s ‘no better feeling than keeping them quiet’ on his personal Instagram account.

An interesting way to word it given a few thousand Mags drowned out a sorry 39,000 crowd inside Goodison Park – with Everton fans seeming intent on staying quiet to send a message to Big Sam.

Being an ex-Sunderland stopper, he took plenty abuse from the Toon Army all game, but it took the bait and ran over to the away fans to make his thoughts known – also celebrating jubilantly towards the thousands of Newcastle fans at the full-time whistle.

He’s since posted the following on his Instagram account:

“Great 3 points tonight. No better feeling then keeping them quiet. #sendthemin #neverstopraving #Everton. “

Fair play to Jordan, he hasn’t had much to shout about recently with his boyhood club having just gone down (again) and having Big Sam as his boss, so he had to give something for these Sunderland fans to enjoy.

That being said, I’m not sure what #neverstopraving is referring to. He famously celebrated our relegation back in 2016 (#gettheraveon etc.), so I’m not sure whose relegation he’s celebrating this time..

Anyway, a good bit of banter from Jordan, but it’ll take more than that to keep us quiet.

Here’s what NUFC fans made of it all:

Out sung? Newcastle were good in parts, but nothing special.

Didn’t help that so many couldn’t make it after Sky changed it to a Monday night kick off weeks after the tickets had gone on sale..

Still, was VERY quiet by Everton’s standards.
